Mayfield Smiles Loves Caring for Families

Kathi Adamic can barely remember what it’s like to visit another dentist’s office, as she’s been a patient at Mayfield Smiles for over 30 years now.

“They’ve been primary caregivers for my entire family’s dental needs,” said Kathi. “Other than when I was very young, or if I was referred to a different type of doctor, I haven’t really had any other experiences at another office.”

Kathi, her husband, her adult son, and her two daughters all currently see Dr. Chan at Mayfield Smiles. “We saw Dr. LoPresti for many, many years, then we switched to Dr. Chan after she took over the practice. We've had nothing but wonderful treatment from her.” Kathi said.

Though Kathi is now retired and enjoying her life with family, she knows the ins and outs of Mayfield Smiles, as she herself worked there for several decades. 

“I started working for Dr. LoPresti in 1991, when Mayfield Smiles first opened, and I was his assistant for many years. I left to have my children and I came back to work for Dr. Chan for several years before Covid hit,” she explained. “You know it’s a good place to work when you’ve been there that long.”  

During the past 30 years, Kathi has had a range of dental treatments - from routine six-month cleanings, x-rays, and exams to more specialized procedures including veneers, crowns, and inlays and onlays. 

She said that through it all, she’s always been impressed with the way the dentists at Mayfield Smiles handle patient care. 

"They let you know what’s going on with your treatment as soon as they do their exam and give you your treatment plan, which they go over very well. They lay it all out for you, and then it’s your decision,” stated Kathi. “They certainly don’t recommend work that you really don’t need to have done. They just pretty much go with what you needs.”

Thanks to her experiences, Kathi believes that Mayfield Smiles is a fantastic family dentist. “I would say Mayfield Smiles’ ideal patient is anyone from [age] 3 to 103. They work well with children and older people, and middle-aged people like myself,” she said with a smile. “They are well-rounded, on top of everything. They have all the latest technology. They make you feel comfortable and take away all your worries.”
