Dr. Chan has spent her entire career learning and participating in the Northeast Ohio area. During her residency at Saint Vincent Charity Hospital, she studied under Dr. Paul Priesand and later accepted a position working with him at his private practice in Mayfield Heights.
We see patients from all over Ohio, but primarily service local areas including Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Highland Heights, Beachwood, Lyndhurst, Pepper Pike, South Euclid, Willoughby, Wickliffe, Eastlake, Gates Mills, and Richmond Heights.

OUR DENTISTS
DR. DAVID HUDEC, JR.
Dr. David Hudec, Jr. is proud to be the managing partner of Mayfield Smiles having grown up in Cleveland. He earned his undergraduate degree at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine.
Commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Navy, he was stationed in Kings Bay, Georgia, and then served as a U.S. Navy Dental Officer on multiple deployments to the Persian Gulf aboard the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower.
After his world travels, Dr. Hudec was pleased to reestablish his roots at home in Greater Cleveland. His passion for quality dental care and his genuine, personal approach sets the tone here at Mayfield Smiles.
DR. MAEMIE CHAN
Dr. Maemie Chan is a downtown Chicago Native and moved to Cleveland, Ohio to pursue dentistry. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in psychology, she then moved to Cleveland and earned her DMD from Case Western Reserve University and pursued a one-year advanced general dentistry practice residency at Saint Vincent Charity Hospital. She is now currently medical staff at Saint Vincent Charity and works in private practice with Dr. Paul Priesand in Mayfield. Dr. Chan is board-certified to treat patients within the hospital setting as well as private practice.
Her areas of expertise range from surgical extractions and implants, medically compromised patients, young children, cosmetic reconstruction, to routine dental care. Dr. Chan is an elite member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Academy of General Dentistry, Chicago Dental Association, American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and The Greater Cleveland Dental Association.

Family:
Dr. Chan and Dr. Hudec, Jr. welcomed their first child, Andrew, in February 2021.
DR. ANTHONY LOPRESTI
Dr. Anthony LoPresti is a lifelong Cleveland East side resident and graduate of St. Ignatius High School, University of Dayton, and Case Western Reserve University of Dentistry, where he also taught.
Over the past 40 years, he has been driven by a commitment to exceptional dentistry and treats patients like family. Dr. LoPresti has a large and loyal following of patients and we welcome his experience to our group practice.

DR. JOHN SCHUSTER
Dr. Schuster is married to the former Elinor Levy, who he met while they were in graduate school in Houston. They have two (adult) children, Rachel and Jason, and their lovable beagle Buster!
When he isn’t working, Dr. Schuster likes to indulge in a few hobbies. He is an avid photographer, reader of crime fiction, traveler, and, only on days that end in y, a golfer. He has a group of ex-Navy friends who go “across the pond” every year to play the classic links courses in the UK and Ireland. He’s not sure why he spends a lot of money and free time to play golf in a place that has worse weather than Cleveland, but he seems to enjoy it – he keeps going back!

ANGELA, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST (RDH)
Angela graduated from Lakeland Community College in 1991 and has been practicing dental hygiene ever since. From a preventative aspect in dentistry, she loves educating and helping her patients maintain their beautiful smiles for a lifetime!
She is a member of The American Dental Hygiene Association and received the outstanding dental health educator award upon her college graduation.
When she is not in the office, she loves listening to different types of music and when possible, catch live shows with her husband or friends. She loves to travel and exercise, including Barre 2 Pilates and yoga classes. Her husband, son, and dog are her three favorite things and in her spare time loves spending time with them.
DENISE, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENST (RDH)
Denise is a registered dental hygienist and office manager who has been working for Doctors Chan & Priesand since 2001. Her expertise in dentistry includes insurance, billing, patient education, treatment of periodontal disease, and early prevention care in children and adults. In her spare time, the Middlefield native enjoys coaching children’s basketball, photography, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Denise graduated from the Lakeland Department of Dental Hygiene and is board certified with the Dental Hygiene National Board, North East Regional Dental Hygiene Board, and Ohio State Dental Board.
RITA, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST (RDH)
Massachusetts native Rita is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She moved to Cleveland in 2015. She began her dental journey in 2006 as a dental assistant. She graduated from dental hygiene school in 2011. She had the privilege of traveling to Sydney, Australia to work in dentistry, as well.
Rita’s first dental memory is from high school while working in a grocery store. She was a cashier and a little boy was talking to Rita about his fear of losing his first loose tooth. Rita assured him that losing a baby tooth was normal and his adult tooth would come in to replace it. She still sees that “little boy” and they always reminisce about that conversation. Rita has also participated in community events, such as the Connecticut Mission of Mercy and Convoy of Hope.
In her spare time, Rita enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Rita is honored to be a member of a great dental team at Mayfield Smiles. She looks forward to participating in more community events, encouraging dental health and awareness, and making a difference in patients’ lives.
SHANNON, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST (RDH)
Shannon is a registered dental hygienist. She graduated from Lakeland Community College with an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys interacting with patients and helping educate them about their oral health. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family, friends, and her two dogs.
KELLY, FRONT DESK
Kelly began her career in the dental field as a dental assistant and then changed career paths moving into the role of dental administration. She is from Chardon, Ohio, and attended the Cleveland Institute of Medical-Dental Assistants.
What Kelly loves most about her job is working with people and getting to know them better. In her free time, Kelly loves spending time with her husband, John, and two kids, Bryce and Julia. While also making time for friends, Kelly stays busy with her kids’ activities and sports.
PAULA, HYGIENIST
Paula is Cleveland born and raised and currently resides in Mentor, Ohio. In 1992, she graduated from Lakeland Community College. Paula has been in the dental field for 25 years and says her favorite part about her job is patient interaction.
Paula and her husband, Ron will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year. Together they have two girls, Heather and Erika. Some of Paula’s hobbies include; baking, cycling, and decorating.
JULIE, DENTAL ASSISTANT
Julie started in dentistry in 2005 with Doctor Anthony LoPresti. She was an office manager for several years before transitioning to a dental assistant. In her spare time, Julie likes to spend time with her husband, Ryan, and their twin daughters, Madelyn and Fiona.
LISA, DENTAL ASSISTANT
Lisa is from Lakewood, Ohio, and recently relocated to Mentor, Ohio in 2019. Since 1994, Lisa has been involved in all aspects of dentistry including but not limited to: pediatrics, oral surgery, periodontics, and general dentistry. She loves to see patients’ smiles transform. Lisa also enjoys easing the dental anxiety and fears from patients, as well as getting to know them and their families. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with family, hiking, and road trips.
